There are social justice issues that transcend our everyday lives. They are insistent, persistent, and generational. Criminal Justice. Homelessness. Poverty. Civil Rights. Voting. The Prison Industrial Complex. The Aesop Project is an artist collaborative that focuses on issues of social justice and disenfranchisement.
Our last project, a diptych: I Can’t Believe This Is Happening and Actual Facts Are Necessary tackles voting as a series of a popup art protests projected on walls in Northeast Florida. It is about now; the America we are living in and the America we want to be. It's one part protest, one part voting manual, one part art show. Voting is more important now than it has ever been. That isn’t politics that is logistics. This means voting isn’t a choice, it is essential. The goal is to encourage all of us to #vote be engaged civically.
