I’ve always loved photography.
I started off with an old Poloroid camera and have probably had about only 6 or 7 cameras since then. Being from Florida taking a picture of a spectacular sunset and dreamy cloud formations is definitely a part of my repertoire.
I’ve I do hesitate to call myself a professional photographer though. I’ve done it because I loved it and because people would buy me cameras as gifts. I freely admit I haven’t paid attention to equipment because the luxury of buying what would be considered the best didn’t feel open to me, so I’ve used what I had. I believe this is what has shaped how I’ve looked at things. I don’t know though if that makes me look at everything and try to capture everything, or am I looking for very special moments to make up for the fact that I don’t care enough about equipment? I do realize equipment makes a difference and I also believe capturing special moments matters just a little bit more.
